So I was snooping in other people's LJ's (hey if they didn't want people to read it they wouldn't post it) where someone had mentioned the weather and marvelled at how cold it was in Canada, Ottawa specifically. Now I live in Calgary, Alberta and I suppose you could say I have every western Canadian's opinion of the east which is: the east is full of wimps, whiners and self important blowhards. I don't know if there's an east/west divide in the States, I think yours is mostly north/south right? Aaaanyhow... back to my point, they were talking about the weather and since we're having some ickyish weather I figured... sure post about the weather, be boring, it's ok :) So what kind of weather are we having in Calgary, Alberta? It's snowing, not just a little bit, it's been snowing since last night but it's the nice pretty big fluffy slowing dropping flakes. So at least it looks good. In looking at the snow everywhere all I can think is; I really need to put some weight in the back of my truck.

My truck is very girly it's a metallic green '97 Ford Ranger with flaresides. It also has silver pinstriping it's a very nice looking truck, but it's also a rear wheel drive, my kingdom for a 4x4 I swear. And to add insult to injury my fiance's rust box 89 Toyota Corolla just cuts through the snow like an ugly, square little armadillo (ok, so I couldn't think of anything that could power through snow, sue me)

The nice thing about all this snow? My dog loves it! Honey (that's her name, I didn't name her, my mom did) is a 30lb sheltie/ red healer cross. She's a long haired ginger and white dog and she just goes crazy for snow. We take her outside and let her off-leash and she runs around, buries her nose in the snow up to her ears. I think the term for what she does is 'frolic'. It's a sight to behold, so while I personally hate snow (you may ask why I don't move somewhere else but I LOVE Alberta, snow and all) I'm happy for snow because it's especially entertaining for my dog.

My apologies for the rampant ()'ing.
